Mixing things up tonight - usually I end up in the jazz realm... tonight I'm starting in it so I can finish in the 'rock' (kinda) side!

When I did most of my Magma-buying, I was a bit of a 'zeuhl-purist', I guess, and didn't like other pop-cultural references leaking in... now I am a bit more accepting and see it as a grave mistake on my part.... |

| Finishing up that set running around in the mid-70's, as I have done for the better part of the show.. now onto the final hour, One full album-drop and one 'feature'(not the complete LP)' from more recent times! Normally I wouldn't do this... but I needed to get to work on Monday AM very early (if this works, I could get 4 hours sleep, instead of 3 - that extra hour is very precious...), and this is the way to doing that! The first, a great Quebecois band comprised of 4 guitarists and a 'drummer, put out 2 LPs in the mid-80's (this being the second). They featured (among other luminaries), guitariste Rene Lussier and Drummer Chris Cutler (Henry Cow, Art Bears, etc.). The second LP is brand-spanking-new and is the 5th LP from Norwegian improv/jam band Elephant9 on Rune Grammophon! |
