Back in the the hotseat after the Nomeansno feature-shows and looking at a great 2017 - this time we introduce a new feature-set dedicated to CKCU stalwart Mary Mackinnon, provisionally titled the 'Merry Mack'. Mary passed away late last year, and I have decided to dedicate the first set of each show to playing a few tracks from artists she has introduced me to. At the end of the show, the usual 'enormous feature', this time from Krautrock band Space Debris and their typically colossal release from 2015, 'Phonomorphosis'.
| The First Set, the aforementioned 'Merry Mack' set, starts out with a Meredith Monk track from 2008's 'Impermanence' CD, and also contains tracks from Montreal's Shalabi Effect, KTU (a collaboration between new King Crimson Members, and classic Krautsters, Kluster), a Kawabata Makoto band Floating Flower, and free-folk-rockers, Spires that in the Sunset Rise. |
