Starting out with some horn-driven early-70's jazz/funk and finishing with 'part 2' of a feature on the new Swans LP, 'The Glowing Man', you know we're covering a lot of ground here.
Chase was created in 1970 by Bill Chase, Ted Piercefield, Alan Ware, and Jerry Van Blair, all veteran jazz trumpeters. Chase came to an end on August 9, 1974. While en route to a scheduled performance at the Jackson County Fair in Minnesota, Bill Chase died at the age of 39 in the plane crash. Thanks, once again, to Big Bad Bruce McEwen for hipping me to/lending me music for your listening pleasure! |
