Night Watch
Sunday October 20th, 2013 with Dāv Fot
New Sun Dial LP! Gong's 'Gong Est Mort'.

With Funding Drive coming up next Nightwatch, I did my best tonight to settle in and present a litany of self-indulgences, gathering my strength for the Drive show. If you listen, take the time to go online, or phone and send the station some cash - it starts next Friday!
Starting the show with a look at a new LP from a great British band who've been plying the psychedelic waters for more than 2 decades...
Mountain of Fire & Miracles
Sundial - Mind Control - Tangerine New
Radiation
Sundial - Mind Control New
Last Rays of the Sun
Sundial - Mind Control New
After the trance-inducing Sundial, we head into slightly more treacherous Canadian waters...
Forget Your Life
Nomeansno - The Day Everything Became Nothing - A/T Canadian
Lola Pallooza
Exploding Meet - Mapping New Tangier - Birdman Canadian
Against the Day
Land Of Kush - Against the Day - Constellation Canadian
After he Canadian attack, back to an LP that had one side-long track featured last Nightwatch... but it was so good, I felt that the other track deserved the airtime! New LP from SoCal's wig-out-psych/punk-sters, Residual Echoes... redux!
Bush Pij/Sometimes
Residual Echoes - The Middle Path - Holy Mountain New
Now to the truly self-indulgent Feature of the Nightwatch. One thing I have found in doing this show, is that it (and CKCU generally...) is allowed the latitude of playing multiple tracks from one band... so, in the spirit of this, settle in - it's time to get Gong-ified, with the the entirety of the final live performance of the original band/concept before their break-up/departure of Daevid Allen in 1977.
Can't Kill Me/I've Been Stoned Before/Radio Gnome
Gong - Gong Est Mort - Celluloid
Zero The Hero/Flute Salade/Oily Way/Outer Temple
Gong - Gong Est Mort
Inner Temple/Master Builder/Sprinkling Of Clouds
Gong - Gong Est Mort
Isle Of Everywhere/You Never Blow Your Trip Forever
Gong - Gong Est Mort
There! Wasn't that satisfying! Now, finish the show with a Mick Farren(RIP)'s 'Carnivorous Circus'! Remeber to dial the number come next Friday and donate to CKCU's Funding Drive!

Great show, Dave. Loved the Sundial stuff but that Gong set was amazing. OMG, that band was everywhere at once and sounded like nothing else. Thanks !
