Filling the first hour Running between joy and grief with a new release from a local band (J'envoie), and an 'In Memoriam' for Deviants vocalist Mick Farren. Then we disappear into the Prog landscape, only to finish with one final cut from Mick Farren.
Very excited to started this edition of the Nightwatch with a feature on a new release from local band (Gatineau) called J'envoie. We did a bit of an 'overview' of some of their previous releases a few shows back, and this LP fulfills all promise. Going from 'excited' to 'grief-stricken' in one swell foop - legendary counter-culture icon, vocalist for the Deviants, and fiction/non-fiction/rock writer Mick Farren has passed away at the age of 69 from a heart attack onstage while performing. Rest in Peace, we will spend generations living up to your inspiration. |
