First Band From Outer Space! Rahmann! Jade Warrior!
Last show of 2012! Just sitting back, doing a reg'lar Nightwatch, no big year-end wrap-up, or anything - it's a treat for me, a self-indulgent show. I admit, they're ALL self-indulgent in one way or another, but, with the Xmas season being hectic, and not having much free time to listen to music otherwise, this is a great chill-time for me!
Starting out with a Bang: 2-features-in-one-set wo\ith a 2006 release from Swedish Space-rock band 'First Band From Outer Space', and some recordings from 1970 by British band T.2.! |
Novja Zemelia First Band From Outer Space - Impressionable Sounds Of The Subsonic - Transubstans |
Todo Pasara First Band From Outer Space - Impressionable Sounds Of The Subsonic - Transubstans |
Fantasy T.2. - 1970 |
T.2. T.2. - 1970 |
Note about T.2. - drummer Peter duntyon was in many UK bands in this era, most notably Gun. Now onto a track from a CD released in 2011 by Danish band Causa Sui, so great jam-rock! |
Gelassenhelt Causa Sui - Pewtr Sessions |
Stretcher Beggar's Opera - Pathfinder |
Fainting in Coild Bill Bruford - The Bruford Tapes |
Working from Hard rock to fusion, we move into the centrepiece for this Nightwatch... |
Entire LP Jade Warrior - Way Of The Sun |
From the Centrepiece, we move (after accidentally hitting the 'Art Bears' - it was supposed to come AFTER Rahmann... but I let it stay there; hey if it REALLY wanted to get played there, who am I to stand it int's way? :^D) to a feature on an obscure release from French band Rahmann - fusion, Zeuhl (features the violin of Didier Lockwood, from Magma!) and some middle-eastern influence makes for a great instrumental LP! |
In Two Minds Art Bears - Hopes and Dreams |
Atlanta Rahmann - Rahmann |
Ab Rahmann - Rahmann |
Danse Sacree (Demo Version) Rahmann - Rahmann |
Mrom some older Zeuhl to some Classic Rock In Opposition, the Art Bears - their 'Hopes And Dreams LP has been re-issued on vinyl!! Then some new zeuhl from French band Nebelnest... |
Pillars Of Birth NebelNest - ZePTO |
Manjuns NebelNest - ZePTO |
Time to finish out the Nightwatch with some things from the vaults - some spoken word by Lord Buckley, and a 'tone-poem' from John Benson Brooks - 60's hipsterisms abound! |
The Ballad of Dan McGroo Lord Buckley - The Bad Rapping of the Marquis de Sade |
Pt. 2 John Benson Brooks Trio - Avante Slant |
And a final wish-ye-well for 2012! You-all will hear from me 2 weeks hence, so keep the musical ear to the ground, and take care! |
Great show Dāv!
