Just a thought (yes, I know they are dangerous...), but would the colonists who lived in Musk's Mars colony be called Muskovites?

Their design was specific so it could land on any surface (solid or liquid) in the solar system (versus needing an atmosphere or particular geography. The idea is to be able to explore any planet or moon in the solar system!

A return to our Moon would be a good symbolic mission, and generate lots of publicity, too!

Also, it would be a good practice for shipping supplies, and rendezvous between lander and supply ships around other orbits than Earth. And the supply ships could be used to build a space station in Lunar orbit.

Heh, Musk will just skip the moon and head right to Mars. He just doesn't see any value to using the moon as an intermediate step. China and India are certainly looking at the moon though and we can expect a lot of activity there over the next couple of decades.
