Wootles! Yeah... I saw that Open Doors was coming up and CKCU has been participating in it as long as I can remember. They always have fun stuff going on at the station that people can do when they visit.

Sadly I now work all day Saturday, is Open Door Ottawa, all weekend or just on Saturday? I have never done it and would love to explore some of the older buildings etc here in Ottawa.

We are, at the board of directors, in the process of trying to figure out how to create a CKCU trust fund so major donations (e.g. money willed to CKCU, which has happened recently) get put into a separate pot from our general revenues received from our Funding Drive, etc.. One of the questions is what such a fund could and should be used for. Setting up summer camp funds to help people of limited finances send their kids sounds like a good use for it (people can, for instance, fund a spot in perpetuity with a large enough donation). It won't happen this year obviously, but it's a good idea and I will bring it up at the board meeting next Tuesday!
