Today's show was the first ever *live remote broadcast* of The Dollar Bin! Not very remote, but we did the show in a public venue and not the CKCU on-air studio. Specifically, it was in the atrium on the 4th floor of the Carleton University Unicentre building. Here's the mash up I played... As with previous years, those who donate $10 or more will be entered into one of two draws (name pulled from hat by a member of the station's staff) for a stack of amazing dollar bin CDs. As with previous years, these are CDs I have purchased doubles of specifically to give away because they are some of my favourite music (not because they are dollar bin CDs I don't want anymore, these are the cream of the crop). Unlike previous years, the first draw will be totally random amongst those who donated (each person who donates gets their name once in a hat, like previous years), and the second draw will be one entry per $10 donated (I'll toss the appropriate number of slips of paper into the hat, unlike previous years). Also, unlike previous years, I have a VERY, VERY SPECIAL RARE PROMOTIONAL ITEM to potentially give away... if my show reaches $465.50 in donations (1/2 of $931), I will have an additional draw for an ULTRA RARE "THE BEST OF R.E.M. - IN TIME 1988-2003" CD SINGLES BOX SET (each of the 18 singles is on its own CD and each CD is inside a cardboard sleeve with unique artwork... it has been opened, but never played, and is is mint condition... you can see one here or get your own if you don't win the draw and are bummed out: http://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=266667). If it happens, your chances of winning it will be proportional to the amount you donated (one slip of paper in the hat per $10 donated).
