Contemporary swing bands spend a lot of effort arranging jazz standards to their unique set ups, as well as creating covers and re-imagining of those old standards. Similarly, not willing to limit themselves limit themselves yesteryear, these contemporary artists re-imagine more contemporary pieces, modulating timing, key, and style to create jazz versions of modern pieces. Postmodern Jukebox excels at this, and as a preview of their upcoming Ottawa show, here is a collection of wonderful re-imaginings.
