Join me as we listen to three great Canadian artists. They were all nominated for JUNOs this year and DIDN'T win. We'll hear from one of the best writers of big band music right now: Darcy James Argue and his big band, Secret Society. Our other two artists are both bassists, but there the similarity ends. Brandi Disterheft is also a composer and vocalist, and we'll hear some cuts from her newest record, Blue Canvas. Finally, we'll check in on the Dave Young Quintet's latest (and, according to Dave, last) studio record, One Way Up, featuring fellow JUNO nominee pianist Renee Rosnes.
