Throughout Jazz history artist have recorded with string orchestras (Charlie Parker, Chet Baker, Clifford Brown, Ben Webster, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn...). There have been experiments as well incorporating string quartets, cellos, and harps. Today we'll explore this tradition with an edition of "Jazz with Strings Attached". Featured artists include Dave Holland, Kenny Barron, Ralph Towner, Max Roach and the Uptown String Quartet, Clifford Brown, Jeremy Pelt and other jazz greats.
