Rob Bitschofsky (host)
Oooooh now I wish I brought some Motorhead, Peter! Trio still sounds fresh to me, 40 years later.

The German art=punk goes down pleaseingly sideways! q;^)

Rob Bitschofsky (host)
Shelly Ann and Clarice and PB! Following the German punk rock with some German art rock courtesy of Can. Might make Clarice hide under the bed!

PB
CAN rules! That Holger Czukay sure has put out some woderfully odd and innovative tunage.

2:18 PM, November 19th, 2023
Rob Bitschofsky (host)
For sure, PB. Czukay is terrific. As is the rest of the group. The drummer, Jaki Liebezeit, is on FIRE on this number now playing.

2:21 PM, November 19th, 2023
PB
Correction: "sure DID". He died in 2017.

2:22 PM, November 19th, 2023
PB
Jaki Liebezeit also died in 2017.

2:26 PM, November 19th, 2023
Rob Bitschofsky (host)
Wikipedia says they both died in 2017. Czukay and Leibezeit. What a rhythm section!

Oooops. I owe you a coke. Our comments passed eachother in the ether.

Thanks for making me smile with "Da da da". It was one of the very first records I ever bought (a 45 single which I still have) along with Kenny Rogers, ACDC, Kiss, and M's "Pop Music" and some disco compilation whose name escapes me. Can't remember in which order I bought these albums but they were all in a span of several months. It's so dumb and so damn catchy at the same time. I had no idea that Trio was punk rock. Fun stuff.

3:15 PM, November 19th, 2023
Rob Bitschofsky (host)
So so dumb, so so catchy! And hiding behind it was an album of astonishingly innovative and hilariously boisterous rock n roll. I'm glad it resurfaced. And I'm impressed with your early breadth of taste, Manmohan. Well, maybe not the Kenny Rogers!

Still down that rabbit hole... Holger Czukay, Jah Wobble & Jaki Liebezeit / 'Full Circle'. One of my absolute favorite experimentals. WAAAAAAY ahead of its time tape loop of distant radio, and such in 1982. Contemporary with Eno-Byrne / 'My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts' (1981). Jah Wobble lives, and is still active.

3:34 PM, November 19th, 2023
Rob Bitschofsky (host)
Huh, PB: I don't know it, but it sounds 100% up my alley. I gotta go dig it up!

PB
Assuming you mean 'Full Circle'. YEAH, a masterpiece. You can find it via OnDemand -- think i may have played the whole thing at one point.
