Hey now, folks: the show's a recording, but I'm here at the interactive controls live to handle your questions, comments and philosophical proclamations.

Listening in on this rainy afternoon.

No, listeners, I am filling your minds with misinformation. The man's name is Plunky, not Punky, as I just said. James "Plunky" Branch, sax player and the leader of the various iterations of Oneness of Juju.

Hah! Hi Clarice! I have a purrrrrfect rainy afternoon show lined up for you.

Shelley Ann Morris
We are going to use “Let The Happiness In” for one of the musical selections for our next Welcome To My World show, which will be aired this coming Tuesday. A very important song, especially for right now.

Rob Bitschofsky (host)
Hey, good stuff, Shelly Ann! Excellent song. Everybody, tune in on Tuesday! And yeah, in these pandemicky days, everybody needs all the happiness they can get!

I love that Brazilian track that just played. Everything that Guts is a part of is impressive! Groovy show as always, RobB.

Rob Bitschofsky (host)
Hey Manmohan! Guts indeed always has the goods. Glad you're along for a rainy Sunday afternoon show.

I love these Peter Gabriel songs!

A little blast from the past, right? It' nice to hear the instrumental and remix versions: kinda casts the old songs into new lights, I think.

What’s this playing at 2:16

2:16 PM, August 2nd, 2020
Rob Bitschofsky (host)
Glad you're digging it, Shelly Ann! Gaudi has tons more where that came from. Look for his remixes of Nusret Fateh Ali Khan too. Great stuff!

2:17 PM, August 2nd, 2020
Rob Bitschofsky (host)
Shubham, that's Sven Wunder from the new album Wabi Sabi. Swedish guy.

2:18 PM, August 2nd, 2020
Rob Bitschofsky (host)
Nusrat, I should say. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan!

peebee
Just joining back in after a pleasingly soggy errand.... What was that just now (14:45 - ish)? Sounded a bit like electric kora at times, beatsty. Keiichi Tanaka perhaps?

2:47 PM, August 2nd, 2020
Rob Bitschofsky (host)
Yup, it was likely that, peebee. You're enjoying the rain today? Me too. Nice break after days and days of heat.

2:52 PM, August 2nd, 2020
Rob Bitschofsky (host)
um, but I could do without the tornado that they're suddenly warning us about. Local listeners: take cover!

3:02 PM, August 2nd, 2020
peebee
You betcha! We are very parched, so this is much needed, especially by farmers. Rain is only water as they say. But there's also a risk of angry electrons today too. Not as keen on being out in that stuff.

3:04 PM, August 2nd, 2020
Rob Bitschofsky (host)
Ending the show with some gamelan today, which is ideally suited to some tropical rain. It's very powerful music: I'm expecting it to keep the tornado gods from striking us.

3:06 PM, August 2nd, 2020
peebee
Oh-oh, more unsuspecting Gamelans to be harmed! Now, if you were to mix in a little Tuvan throat singing you'd have me. q;^)

3:27 PM, August 2nd, 2020
Rob Bitschofsky (host)
Throat singing? I'm trying to appease the tornado gods here, peebee, not egg them on!

3:30 PM, August 2nd, 2020
Rob Bitschofsky (host)
...and there it is! Did you hear that, peebee? Little throaty something in there for you and the tornado gods!

Great show today! Thank you Rob!

3:52 PM, August 2nd, 2020

Johnny b
Hi Rob Usual listener My FM radio cut out for a while during your show. I'm wondering if you went off air for a while or maybe my stereo is giving up the ghost? Love relaxing and getting to trip all over the world with ckcu Thx

10:54 PM, August 2nd, 2020
Rob Bitschofsky (host)
Hey johnny b! Maybe it's your old stereo, but I wouldn't retire it just yet. We just replaced our antenna at the CKCU superterranean world headquarters, so it could have just been a glitch due to the adjustment period. I'm not sure, because I was listening over the internet. In any case, thanks for listening!
