JUST WOW!! Yet another new, yet old, collaboration release from Terry Riley & Kronos Quartet, and friends!!! A Kronos Quartet project manipulating pre-recorded sounds and images from space, music for string quartet and chorus, with music composed by Terry Riley, plus visuals by Willie Williams. The project started in 2000 when the NASA Art Program invited the Kronos Quartet to incorporate sounds, recorded over a period of 40 years by plasma wave receivers on board spacecraft, into music.

Although composed in early 2000's, and premiered in October 2002 at the Hancher Auditorium, University of Iowa, it has only been released just now.

We will play it IN FULL today.

JUST INCREDIBLE. Enjoy!!

Hi David ... after the fact... YES Gordon's works are excellent. Saw the Quartet live at JazzFest this summer, and they blew my socks right off. First time seein his outfits live was Haram, several years ago at FolkFest (back when it was still good ;^/ and also a mind blower. You can find out more, including the Quartet, here: https://songlines.com/artist/gordon-grdina/
