Today I'll give away a pair of tickets to the Sultans Of String show at the Shenkman Arts Centre on Friday, May 13. We'll hear music from the group along with a globe-trotting, string-heavy set from some other sultans of string, including Turkey's Taksim Trio, American violinist Billy Bang's Vietnamese-influenced jazz, some deep Chinese ch'in blues from Lo Ka Ping, Anouar Brahem's North African Oud, the stunning mixed Asian strings of French composer Hector Zazou's last album and more.
