Sunday February 13th, 2011 with Alnoor Allidina
The Awards Show Show

Alnoor Allidina presents a look at this year's Grammy and Juno nominated world music artists. Many of the nominees are familiar to regular listeners of This Island Earth, and some will be nice surprises. You are not likely to hear these musicians on tonight's presentation of the Grammy's so tune to CKCU to check them out.
In the first hour, we take a look at this year's Grammy nominees in the "Best Contemporary World Music Album" category. We begin with Beninoise singer/songwriter Angelique Kidjo, who already has one Grammy under her belt (among many other awards).
