Achingly beautiful new traditional raga from Anoushka Shankar. Many classical-ish sounds. Plus treats from all over the pan-galactic N-dimensional map!

Today's adventure features a full play of Anoushka Shankar's new release of traditional Raga, "Home". It is JUST STUNNING. Plus, lots of classical-ish sounds. More plays of recent favourites. And a bunch of fusions. Mostly just lots of long sets, and long tracks, today. Join the fun! Please hit us up on the Interactive Thingy (over there ==>). We'd love to hear from you!!

Just ACHINGLY GORGEOUS new traditional raga from Anoushka Shankar. One of my personal favourite artists. This marks a return to her traditional training. We'll listen to the whole recording, end-to-end.

It starts with a suite of three inter-related pieces in the traditional Raga Jogeshwari form, created by Ravi Shankar based on other traditional forms. And then to the final expansive piece, in Khamaj form.

Empty your mind. Just let it wash in...

Hi V, yes, a TERRIFIC recording. These raga forms are intended to be played late at night ... but it must be night somewhere. ;^)

Hate to be a dissenting voice... she is a competent sitarist but I find she just plays the notes of the raga but doesn't explore them. I am sure there is a technical term in Indian music for this. It's enjoyable but a bit vacant :(
