Music From The Glen

Cross-fertilization into non-traditional spheres

This is a special edition of Music from the Glen, showing roots and connections of traditional folk music into the non-traditional worlds of pop, rock, dance, techno, goth, heavy-metal, sampling and more. Expect to be challenged as we explore music that broadens the experience of trad and non-trad audiences alike! The on-demand version of the show includes a bonus track from Martyn Bennett (listed below) that we did not have time to include in the on-air version of the show.

What a wild ride your program is today! I'm enjoying it immensely although I thought at first I had dialled in to the wrong station! Love the different interpretations and putting traditional music into different genres. Very clever.

Thanks Marilyn and Bill, glad you enjoyed the show. It's a good reminder that it's a living tradition. Neal, it'll be lots of trad next week, I promise!
