Namaste! Once a poet and a potter met on the banks of a river and each was asking the other, “what is the most beautiful thing they have seen in India.” After much debate they decided that the kalasha is the perfectly beautiful object for us in India. It has multiple uses, has many meanings aesthetic and metaphysical, it has a place in temples and homes, it creates romance at the panghat and in the kitchen it stores food. And when it is old it is returned to the earth from where it was born. The poet then sang of its virtues and the potter placed a handful of earth on his wheel. Welcome to An Indian Morning.
