Namaste! It was a spiritual Indian morning and on the banks of the Shipra river at Ujjain sat two learned men. One was a rishi or a seer and the other was a kavi or a poet and they looked serene and in deep meditation. When their eyes opened and they looked at each other, they exchanged greetings and asked, “Where are you from and what brings you here”? The rishi, dressed in saffron clothes and ash covered face and knotted hair, said that he was from the Himalayas and had come to Ujjain in search of Truth. The poet, dressed in a harabandi and dhoti said that he was from Rishikesh and had come to Ujjain, the home of Kalidasa, also in search of Truth. The rishi after offering salutations said that Truth can only be obtained by deep meditation where you can transcend samsara and have a glimpse of the Purusha. The poet returned the salutations and said he was searching for Poetic Truth and had come to Ujjain which was where great poets like Kalidasa and Bhartrhari had lived. Welcome to An Indian Morning!
