I feel sorry for this movie and the people associated with it when I read accolades for average but overhyped movies. Saath Saath had got average box office success, neither a flop, nor a big hit. It had received admirations too but not the way, any 3 Idiots, Bajrangi Bhaijan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Happy New Year or My Name is Khan receives. The fact is, Saath Saath is simply an outstanding movie with several pluses to its credit - story, treatment, crispness of narration, performances and music. It provides entertainment, romance, laughs, thoughts to ponder and inspiration; all rolled into one. A gem of a movie by the director Raman Kumar. The greatness of the music of this movie is timeless with gems like TUMKO DEKHA TO YE KHAYAL AAYA, KYUN ZINDAGI KI RAAH MEIN MAJBOOR HO GAYE and PYAR MUJHSE JO KIYA TUMNE TO KYA PAAOGI. 03-Ye Bata De Mujhe Zindagi CD MISC-20151129 Track#03 4:57 SAATH SAATH-1982; Jagjit Singh, Chitra Singh; Kuldeep Singh; Javed Akhtar य YARA SEELI SEELI..(LEKIN-1990) य Yara Seeli Seeli / यारा सिली सिली, बिरहा के रात का जलना गीतकार : गुलज़ार, गायक : लता मंगेशकर, संगीतकार : पं. हृदयनाथ मंगेशकर, चित्रपट : लेकिन (१९९०) / Lyricist : Gulzar, Singer : Lata Mangeshkar, Music Director : Hridayanath Mangeshkar, Movie : Lekin (1990) The soundtrack "Yara Seeli Seeli” – is awesome, everything is just perfect about the song! The rendition, the music, the lyrics, the picturization! Goes so well with the theme of a person between this world and the other, Lata ji describes the Birha-Ki-Raat as “Seeli-Seeli”! Listen to her range as she goes “Ye Bhi Koi Jeena Hai … Ye Bhi Koi Marna”. It is said that Lataji is one of the few singers in the world who can (could?) sing in 3 octaves! The orchestration is flawless. Is it a surprise then that this won her the 1991 National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer? The song also won film's lyricist, Gulzar, both the 1991 National Film Award for Best Lyrics and the 1992 Filmfare Best Lyricist Award. 04-Yara Seeli Seeli, Birha Ki Raat Ka Jalna CD MISC-20151129 Track#04 5:06 LEKIN-1990; Lata Mangeshkar; Hridaynath Mangeshkar; Gulzar य YAAD AA RAHA HAI… (DISCO DANCER-1982) य Mithunda. Bappida. Disco Dancer. `Comprenda', we mean comprende? This chartbuster can officially be awarded the title "the song that nobody forgets"! And whoever sings it, has to do the customary `tudu dook, tudu dook, tuk' before repeating the first stanza again. The song "Yaad Aa Raha Hai" has been described as a synthesized, minimalist, high-tempo, electronic disco song. It has been a "disco anthem” for the ages, and one of the best songs Lahiri ever did. It is after a hiatus that the voice of Alka Yagnik is heard and what makes it all the more remarkable is that a regular with Nadeem-Shravan makes a comeback of sorts with A.R. Rahman no less. Now this is one track that gets into the Jab Tak Hai Jaan mode as the mood of the album shifts from being playful to romantic. Titled 'Tum Saath Ho', this one has a quintessential A.R. Rahman sound to it with a slow pace and soothing orchestra that makes for an out and out love song. While Alka Yagnik leads the charge, Arijit Singh joins in half way through the proceedings.
