Family, some summer pop, Palestine and suicide are all themes in the music tonight.

TRIGGER WARNING - Tonight at around 10:20 (1 hour and 20 minutes into the On Demand edition) we listen to two heartbreaking and thoughtful songs about suicide - from the perspective of parents who find their child has taken their life. We then explore some music from The Kabin Studio in Cork, Ireland where kids in particular are engaged in the creative process of making music and have created a bona fide summer hit with the song and video The Spark. Stephanie Lambring's song is empathetic and sadly beautiful, while the song by Ireland's Lankum is dark and almost relentless in its sorrow. In a way, family ties many of the songs together tonight... I hope you enjoy the mix. It's an odd collection in some ways... but hey... it's CKCU... we're supposed to be an alternative.
