Black History Month Installment #2 - An hour of soul, funk and hip hop followed by an hour of music created by African artists (mostly)

In hour 1 we listen to some thought provoking funk, soul and hip hop music all created by great Canadian and international Black artists. In the second hour we again focus on music from Africa, including a remix of Fela Kuti, a gem from Manu Dibango and some hypnotic North African music from artists who actually performed in the Ottawa area in the 1990s at the National Gallery of Canada and the Canadian Museum of Civilization. Finally we wrap up with a beautiful call for global unity from Tariq Abubakar and the Afro Nubians. Checking into some of the recordings by Tariq Abubakar I found out that he died tragically in his mid-30s in a traffic accident while visiting his home in Sudan. Tariq made a major impact on African-Canadian music during his short life.
