Friday Special Blend
Friday May 22nd, 2020 with Chris White
Andrea Usworth, Robbie Anderman, Miranda Martel, Jenny Mitchell

Hour 1: Natural wisdom correspondent Andrea Usworth shares some ideas on foraging for food and talks about tasty treats she is finding in the woods in springtime. Robbie Anderman reminisces about co-founding Morninglory Farm, a cooperative community in the Killaloe area, in 1969. He also talks about his love of trees and his book, 'The Healing Trees', available at www.healingtreesbook.com. A musician and instrument builder, Robbie shares some music and comments on the need for sustainable local food sources. Hour 2: Artist, seamstress, herbalist and community builder Miranda Martel describes an online questionnaire she has develop to encourage people to engage in a conversation about creating sustainable communities. Jenny Mitchell joins into Special Blend from Guelph to speak of many things: her mobile performance venue called The Golden Bus, her roles as Volunteer Coordinator and Mobile Studio Coordinator at CFRU community radio in Guelph, her dual musical identities as Jenny Omnichord and Bird City, and her admiration for Wax Mannequin, a Guelph-based musician and performance artist.
