Marley Giunta drops by the studio to talk about her business called 'Alive + Well' that makes home-made fermented foods and delivers them to your door. The website is www.aliveandwell.life. We chat with Nicki Bridgland, founder and CEO of Rideau Sports Centre (www.rideausportscentre.com). Nicki oversaw the conversion of the former Rideau Tennis Club to a drop-in multi-sport and wellness facility with a restaurant, bar, yoga studio, massage clinic, fitness centre and gym. Drop-in activities include tennis, volleyball, soccer, basketball, ball hockey and swimming, and there are sports camps for kids. Rideau Sports Centre is located on four acres just across the Rideau River from Strathcona Park in Sandy Hill. The onsite restaurant is The Bridge Public House (https://www.thebridgepublichouse.com) which offers free live music Wednesdays on the covered Upper Deck overlooking the river. Open House on Friday, June 14 (Adults 18+) and Family Fun Day on Saturday, June 15 (All ages) – mostly free activities, including the Outdoor Pool! We talk with Pauline Brown, founder of Pauline Brown's School of Stepdancing. She Pauline was Quebec Champion in 1983, and was inducted into the Ottawa Valley Country Music Hall of Fame in 2003.She'll tell us about "A Show to Remember", a fiddle and stepdance concert taking place at Centrepointe this Sunday afternoon. The concert is a fundraiser for the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County. Pauline is also a songwriter -- we'll play some examples of her creations.
