Brad MacKay is the founder of the Doug Wright Awards, Canada's national comics awards. Doug Wright was famous for his "Nipper" cartoons. Brad and helpers founded the awards in 2005, and the 2017 awards were just held in Toronto. The awards are currently doing an original art auction as a fundraiser with 15 pieces of original art based on Archie comics. Local musician Billy BOone spearheaded the concert and silent auction to raise funds for those affected by this spring's floods. David Ross Whiteley is one of the actors in a new bilingual play called _Maestro_ opening at the Gladstone.
