Steve Kirkland (host)
No, it wasn't, I changed my mid at the last second, thinking it went better after The Kinks... that'll teach me to post the playlist before the track starts playing... which is why I don't, usually.

I did 2 semesters of German at u of o too. Circa early nineties. Trying to remember the teacher's name. I was in engineering mgmt and MBA. German level 1 was full but the teacher let me attend anyway Good times. Can you recall your teacher's name?

7:34 PM, April 19th, 2025
Gee
Can’t recall - but I remember she was married to a professor at U of O who taught Spanish. I think his surname was Fernandez. I can see her face, hear her voice - told us once how surprised she was that Canadians bought bread and kept it in their freezers.

... tangentially speaking, Gee, I freeze bread myself, given my favourite works out to be about 50cents a slice, too dear to let go stale

Thx for the response Gee, but it's ot resonating, maybe not the same teacher then. Funnily I ended up meeting a girl in Argentina, and the house hold except me interacts in Spanish (my kids born here to boot) i maybe should have gone with the husband . :^\ I still have that Deitch heute book - it's really good.

7:52 PM, April 19th, 2025
Gee
Yeah… Me, too. I buy 2/3 loaves at a time - usually on sale. Freeze it ‘til I need it (could be a theme for your next show…”freeze it til ya need it”…)
