Hi Steve, This year, I made a donation not specific to any particular show. This was my way of thanking ALL the volunteer hosts who have kept the Mighty 93 alive and well during this very difficult time—I’m happy that people are coming back into the studio!

Hah! (Shelley Ann Morris) I did sort of the same, but 180 degrees opposite too, in that I donated whilst blaming 6 shows. Of which this excellent one.

Got to say that the show that dragged me into CKCU more deeply than before, was the now lamented Friday Morning Cartunes. I miss cranky John, and his (often) psych long form music!

Hi Shelley! There are plenty programs at 93.1 worthy of recognizing and rewarding collectively!! Glad you take the time to listen live and interact regularly!! Cheers

Welcome. More than deserved. I mean where else (ok, CHUO maybe) can one hear not only a vast diversity of musics (Dalle; Bizarre), but also what used to be called "indie", back when CBC Radio 3 was a thing, with DJs actually curating. You guys still do. It's become rare and ever more precious. Thanks again.

On CBC Classic (2), whatever it's really called, I've noted that producers obviously have been asked to promote "diversity" -- non-White composers, etc. Why do I say this? While I've heard CBC play works by the excellent Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, the only creole composer I'm aware of, I've begun to hear his name pop up regularly -- every week, for instance. Used to be maybe once a year. Nothing wrong, but I read it as CBC programming even classical music more by policy than by expert curating; certainly more than way back, when odd, known expert personalities were the DJs. (ex. Gilmour's Albums...)

(That was long. But if you didn't know the Chevalier, look up his wiki. Incredibly impressive person.)

Thanks for the tip on the Chevalier, B, keep the comments as long as you like!

Yes, Bonobo (Simon Green) played with a band in Sep at the Algonquin Theatre, great gig. I think this will be the last time he will play with a band as he says it's not been cost affective. His tour consisted of some gigs as a live performance, others as DJ sets. As a gig, he plays bass and synths
