At the Airport, so posting the first set... will join in listening live soon...

6:04 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Wally
You should have snuck in Airport by The Motors in the mix

6:07 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Steve Kirkland (host)
Wally, I hadn't planned on being at the Airport, just happened... great song suggestion though

6:52 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Wally
Hope everything went well

7:01 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Steve Kirkland (host)
Went to pick up family, Wally. Easy-peasy... small planeload and a deserted airport

Listening to this BTO track makes me think of the letter to Circus magazine I remember reading as a teenager -- someone bastardized the Infinite Monkey Syndrome to say that if you gave 100 monkeys 100 guitars they would eventually write a BTO song.

7:15 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Wally
It would make for a great live show to see 100 monkeys play 100 guitars, but it might not sound like BTO

7:29 PM, October 23rd, 2021
IanJ
That's a fantastic BTO quote! I'll keep it handy next time I hear Takin' Care of Business. Great show, always lovely to see a Topplers release in the mix.

Wally
Hey Ian, more NoMen shenanigans playing now 👌👏👍

7:34 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Steve Kirkland (host)
Hi Ian!

7:34 PM, October 23rd, 2021
IanJ
The Nomen, the pride of Ayr! Wally, they also have a couple free Halloween albums on bandcamp.

7:41 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Wally
Ian, they are a band that is hard to keep up with as they seem to record something every month or two.

7:45 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Andria
Thanks for the introduction to Actors. I thought I was for sure listening to something out of the early 80s, which is never a bad thing for me 🎃

7:50 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Dave JC.
I think I have that Flux of Pink Indians trx somewhere on vinyl somewhere. Been listening while out and about. Finally home. Time to nap on the sofa, after you show, of course.

7:50 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Steve Kirkland (host)
Hi Andria, we were just discussing here at home the very same sentiments. Good 80s bears the cross of always being obscured by bad 80s...

7:57 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Steve Kirkland (host)
Mr. JC, I didn't take you for an anarcho-punk... not to say you were one, and not to in any way belittle your eclectic taste!

7:58 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Wally
I remember sending away for Flux Of Pink Indians first cassette release which they were giving away free as advertised in the NME or one of the music magazines

8:00 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Steve Kirkland (host)
Still have that tape Wally?

8:01 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Wally
I never get rid of anything so I'm sure it's in a box somewhere in the basement, will have to dig it up

8:03 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Steve Kirkland (host)
Thanks for listening in... don't forget Funding Drive looms large...

8:05 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Dave JC.
Back in the day, a group of us round the Deptford, New Cross and Lewisham, SE London, were also in the an adjacent obit to some of the more known bands, such as Conflict in Woolwich and the bass player from ATV. Anyway, another story for another time.

8:06 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Wally
Hey Dave, I bet you have many great stories to tell, so much music from that era

8:10 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Dave JC.
BTW: my favourite Flux track is "I'm in Love with a Tube Disaster".

8:10 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Dave JC.
Or "Tube Disaster", the correct title.

8:13 PM, October 23rd, 2021
Dave JC.
Hey Wally, yes, a couple.
