Music written and performed by David Roback (1958 - 2020), who passed away February 24. Incredibly talented guitarist, songwriter, producer who eschewed the limelight, letting the focus fall on his female foils Hope Sandoval (in Mazzy Star) and Kendra Smith (in Opal). Not a massive discography, but his recording history is clearly quality over quantity. If he's new to you, all of his work dating back to the early 80s comes highly recommended.

Thanks for the David Roback spotlight. He was a star of the paisley underground scene and all those records were important to me and influential in certain circles (Pale Saints covered 'Fell From The Sun', Dean Wareham covered 'Hear The Wind Blow', etc.).
