Volume, Contrast, Brilliance
Saturday May 11th, 2019 with Steve Kirkland
If memory serves, may it serve you well

Selection of many of the tracks on tonight's program was inspired by my recollections after learning of the death of Greg Younging on May 3, at the age of 58. In the 1980s Gregg Ing (as he was known then) was an announcer here at CKCU FM, while he was a student at Carleton University. He brought insight, intelligence and social consciousness into his programming. He left Ottawa to continue his studies and embark on a career of important and groundbreaking work as a writer, publisher and educator in the field of Indigenous Studies. A member of the Opastkwayak Cree Nation from Manitoba, he served as Assistant Director for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. Learn more about Greg online at https://ccgs.ok.ubc.ca/faculty/younging.html or https://writersguild.ca/in-memoriam-gregory-younging/
