Mark Hollis, founder of the English band Talk Talk, passed away this week. He was 64. Talk Talk were a successful band in the UK, starting out as somewhat of a post-new wave pop band, often compared to Duran Duran, with whom they toured. They soon outstripped that early sound (and that association) and became more sophisticated, musically and lyrically. Spirit of Eden, their 1988 album, is considered a masterwork, and defies easy description -- you'll have no trouble finding many accounts of its beauty and lasting impact online. After a one-off solo album in the early 90s, Hollis left music at the end of that decade to dedicate his time to family. 20 years on his music remains uniquely moving and influential -- highly recommended if you're unfamiliar with it...

I would like to say so, but laundry and MOD sidetracked me, so its more the mundane then the fashionable I'm afraid to say. Nevertheless one does try.

It was a bag of naturally imperfect apples i got from loblaws....there's no statement of their genus but i think they are mostly macintosh...the bag was discounted at %50 off and they were all pretty bruised. I threw them in a blender with some spinach and made a big smoothie. rotten apples made good again!

I just got the Miller box set. Has original unreleased mix of High Life by Toussaint. The label rejected the Toussaint mix and remixed and re-sequenced it. Both Miller and Toussaint disowned that mix.
