| A couple of tracks to mark the passing of Kevin Junior and Dale "Buffin" Griffin last week. Kevin was an American musician who recorded a couple of albums with his band, the Chamber Strings, and associated with brothers (ex-Swell Maps) Epic Soundtracks and Nikki Sudden, whose "look" and musical sensibility he shared. Buffin was the original drummer for Mott the Hoople, lasting through their early disbandment, reformation and the loss and replacement of key members Verden Allen and Mick Ralphs, even sticking around with the Hoople-less "Mott" for two bad LPs, then their successor British Lions. He subsequently worked, through the 80s and 90s as a producer, including a substantial number of BBC radio sessions. |
