| Musical bed for tonight's program is a selection of 1940-41 tracks featuring seminal Jazz guitarist Charlie Christian, my way of paying my respects to Jacques Emond, who left a lasting legacy here at CKCU, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for jazz for more than 30 years on the much-loved "Swing is in the Air". To me, it mattered less that his focus was on jazz than simply that he was a passionate, devoted and knowledgeable music lover, making him both an inspiration and kindred spirit to yours truly and many others here over the years. May his spirit live on. |
