The French were never heavily bombed and my theory is they had such great architecture and much in common with German culture, they gave up quickly. I assume music had a lot to do with it.

Techno was created not in gay clubs Otto. House music was and that was in Chicago. Lots of people from Detroit went to those clubs to listen to the music brought back house to Detroit and why trying to reproduce it something went wrong all the influences of the Electrifying mojos eurodisco, electro pop , P funk and miami bass played on the show merged with house created a new sound from Detroit. That Neil Rushton from Kool Kat Records in Birmingham UK called Techno on the Techno The New Sound Of Detroit compilation on Virgin Records in 1987. thats the truth,
