Oh Canada! Today, with the exception of the first two tracks, which are from Alison Krauss and Union Station's new album, I'm playing all Canadian Bluegrass and Folk-Country.
Dear Listeners... 😊 I'm back! Ron Moores needed a fill-in and I gladly stepped up. Today I'm opening with two tracks from Alison Krauss and Union Station's new album Arcadia, and then I'm going to feature various bluegrass bands whose albums I have reviewed for the Bluegrass Music Association of Canada's magazine over the past few years. I'll start that with The Doggone Brothers Band, whose album I am just about to sit down to review... I end the show with a track from Thelonious Hank - to pay respect to a man who was much loved by all who knew him - that is clear from the posts and comments since his untimely death a few weeks ago. I did not know Teddy Hawkins (his real name) but felt I was getting to know him through his FB posts and had hoped to meet him one day, and to perhaps get to make some music together. That won't happen, but I am grateful to Danny Marks for pointing me to his Thelonious Hank album, and in particular to Walk Between the Raindrops, penned and performed by Teddy Hawkins. It's got an upbeat message we can all learn from. Enjoy.
