Allan Wigney plays 40 minutes of uninterrupted folk. Neema Mugala drops by the studio to chat about the concert with her band at the NAC Fourth Stage on Sat. June 9. The show, which also features Élage, is called "Muziki Wa Roho: Music for the soul from Senegal and Tanzania". We chat with The LYNNeS (Lynne Hanson and Lynn Miles) who are celebrating their album "Heartbeak Song for the Radio" with two sold-out concerts at the NAC this weekend. Our American correspondents Lesley Carter and Martin Noakes provide an update on their activities and play some music picks. They are the Pennsylvania-based creators of the Great Dark Wonder music blog that celebrates Canadian musicians and music events (www.greatdarkwonder.com). We talk with singer-songwriter and adventurer David Newland and Lynda Brown about "The Northwest Passage in Story and Song" which is coming to Arts Court Theatre on Friday, June 8. The show will also feature two Inuit performers and a four-piece band called Uncharted Waters. "Combining original and traditional music, throat-singing and drum-dancing with stunning photography and storytelling, this performance conveys the emotional and spiritual impact of the Arctic."
