| “THERE’S FIDDLING ON THE RIDEAU RIVER NEAR MANOTICK AGAIN THIS SUMMER.” Ottawa-area-musician-educator-composer Sherryl Fitzpatrick and friends organize these two events as part of a larger vision to bring a major fiddle festival to our Nation’s Capital in 2023 and the perfect venue is right here in Manotick along the banks of the Rideau River. The flotilla events run Saturday, July 23rd and August 27th with live performances on board pontoon boats from 1:00-3:30pm. The music starts at Mahogany Harbour at 1:00pm and Long Island Locks at 2:30pm. “Fiddles on the Rideau” is committed to supporting local mental health initiatives. Proceeds will be donated to Serenity Renewal for Families.
The flotilla will feature local prominent musicians, Toronto production “Come from Away” fiddler, Anna Ludlow, fiddler and step dancer, Chad Wolfe, pianists - Mark Allen and Patric Hamelin, fiddler and pianist, Sherryl Fitzpatrick along with fiddlers from local music clubs.
