So much to say about this week's show, you should just listen and enjoy! However, I will say that this past week I received a wonderful gift from Borealis Records – a posthumus release from Canada’s beloved Laura Smith. Immediately I decided to share this with our Saturday Morning Show audience. The album is called As Long As I’m Dreaming which is also the title of one of NEW the songs in the collection. There are a couple of new songs that Laura recorded after learning of her cancer diagnosis, and a wonderful selection from each of her albums. Also included in the beautiful booklet that accompanies the CD, are some poems, and some of Laura’s musings from her “Dear Meredith” short messages she often shared with her audience on social media. I’m going to play some songs from this CD, and read you snippets from the words within the booklet, starting with the forward, (unfortunately the package doesn’t reveal who wrote the forward.) The legacy of music that Laura has left us is a precious gift. When I listen to music I want to be moved, and I have always been moved by the music of Laura Smith. this feature takes up most of the second hour. Tripod (Terry Tufts, Kathryn Briggs and Beth Tufts) own the fist half of the 3rd hour. I'm sure you'll find the whole show, from 7am to 10am delicious!
