It has not been a good month for the blues. Three artists have passed away: Eddie Kirkland, the Gypsy of the Blues; Big Jack Johnson; and Pinetop Perkins, one of the last of the original Mississippi blues men. We will have some music from each of these artists.
Also on the program: the Dave Rawlings Machine; Gillian Welch, Sara Watkins and Amelia Curran. This will lead us to 9 AM and the Dusty Drifters, sort of.
At this moment, half of the Dusty Drifters have drifted far and wide across the globe. So, and unfortunately, they will not be in the studio this morning. The Drifters have received a very enthusiastic response from listeners. So not to disappoint: today it is an encore presentation of their January 29th appearance! Also appearing on that program were the Unseen Strangers.
Of course, there will be plenty of other music in between and up to 10 AM when it is time for Canadian Spaces with Mr. Chopper Mckinnon.
