Friday Drive
Friday August 29th, 2025 with Trevor Walker
[RunningSumChoonz]

Happy Friday “Drivers” fam! Welcome to this week’s episode. Here we are and it’s already the final Friday of August, where did the month go? Feeling like celebrating the scorcher of a month and summer it’s been with a grab bag of vibes and grooves. Some classic and contemporary Jazz, Funk, Soul and global jams to bid farewell to August and welcome September. The “unwinding from the week” first hour will be compiled of a melange of slightly more downtempo grooves that will be ascending in tempo as the hour progresses and the plan is to take it up even further with more of the same with a taste of some jazzy boots ’n cats tossed in to spice up the second hour to wind you all up for the upcoming weekend, time permitting. Happy listening, thank you all for taking the time and hope you enjoy this week’s offering. Keep it locked!

EVERY THURSDAY AT 9 PM - 2 AM
CONCEPT THURSDAYS
@City Gridwrks
221 Rideau St
No Cover | 19+

As some of you may have seen on my Instagram, CONCEPTHURSDAYS is now moving over to City’s new venue: CITY GRIDWRKS. This decision comes from the fact that Concept had now outgrown City at Night and was having to turn people away at the door every week from not having enough space. City Gridwrks is our new venue on rideau st that can hold up to 3x more people, which will help us accommodate the growing demand for Concept.
The vision for the event still remains the same. Same people, same staff, same music, same vibe and will always remain free. This is still the same concept you know and love, just at a new location!

This Thursday is what we like to call GOOD THURSDAY, as it is Good Friday’s eve, the only public holiday friday of the entire year. If you haven’t been able to check out the new spot yet and you also can’t usually come to concept because of work on fridays, this is the perfect time to!

Neil DGD, It's an "unofficial" release that came out a few years ago and has become ridiculously expensive since its release, unfortunately. Last time I saw it listed on Discogs it was going for around $120 USD for the single. I can share a digital copy with you if you'd like but the vinyl is pretty elusive from what I can tell, sadly.

Trevor Walker (host)
Neil DGD I agree, it's truly one of the greatest albums ever recorded.
