Experimenting with a new way of putting the show together on this week's show.
As you may or may not be aware all the hosts on ckcu have had to produce our show remotely and in advance due to the pandemic.
Full disclosure, I've been pre-recording the soundtrack for my shows over the past year and overdubbing my raps.
Finally decided to try and do it all in one go and today's show is the result.
Musically this set leans mostly towards Jazz Funk and Soulful grooves with a heavy focus on some recent killer and previously difficult to find reissues from the "Black Jazz Records", a couple of samplings from the "Blue Note Re:Imagined 2020" compilation, while still trying to fit a couple of Caribbean grooves, a taste of High Life and a couple of shots from the newly released ST4TA album "Aspects", the latest Collaboration between Gilles Peterson and Jean-Paul Maunick aka Bluey inspired by 80s Brit Funk bands such as Central Line and Atmosfear, which I plan to explore in more depth on future shows.
