Toot's tribute medley + short spotlight on Sabu Martinez Afro Temple
With the passing of Frederick Nathaniel (Toots) Hibbert I did some reminiscing and the thought came to do a medley of my favourites from the crates.
As a result we'll be running through various singles and excerpts from albums featuring releases ranging from the late '60's through the early '70's for the first hour and into the first quarter of the the second hour.
In the remainder of the show we'll take a listen to excerpts from the exceptional "Burned Sugar" and "Afro Temple" from master percussionist Louis "Sabu" Martinez both recorded in 1973.
Both stellar examples of Afro Latin Jazz Funk spiritual Jazz.
