Caroline Balderston Parry (www.carolinebalderstonparry.com) talks about and reads from "The Heron Spirals", her fascinating new book about herons and spiritual growth, and chats about her famous children -- Evalyn Parry (www.evalynparry.com) and Richard Reed Parry (Arcade Fire) -- both of whom are accomplished musicians, creators, performers and activists. Roxanne Goodman is one of the featured performers in "A Celebration of Black History in Canada" taking place at Fourth Avenue Baptist Church on Saturday, Feb. 25. The Black History Month concert will showcase music from Africa and the Caribbean with styles that include Reggae, Calypso, Spirituals, Blues, Jazz, Hip Hop and R&B. The event includes a photo exhibit by award-winning Black historian Thomas Barber depicting the life and legacy of one of Ottawa's first Black residents.
