Carol Shipley; Ten Strings and a Goatskin; Chad Kirvan

Carol Bowyer Shipley added three chapters to her book, "Love, Loss and Longing: Stories of Adoption" after she had a breakthrough in her search for her birth father's family. She outlines the many different perspectives in an adoption situation – including the perspective of the baby! She talks about the right for adoptees to know their roots, and shares her personal and professional experiences related to "the healing power of reunion". Carol's website is www.carolshipleyadoptionstories.weebly.com Ten Strings and a Goatskin, an excellent and engaging PEI-based band, will perform at Almonte Celtfest today at 5:45 pm. The festival is celebrating 20 years of operation, and there's lots of great music all weekend -- see www.almonteceltfest.com. Chad Kirvan is leading a 3-hour "How To Make A Music Video" workshop at the Fifth Avenue Convenience Store on Tuesday, July 12 at 6:30 pm. Email chris@folkzone.ca for more information.
