No B, like mold not the verb, but the noun. Lego doesn't grow mold very well when wet. Unlike drywell and silicone, which are great for mold spores to mature into a soft, lush black bed.

In any case, very often, there is what I'd call "personal usage" -- for instance spelling "mould" the stuff that grows, and "mold" the hollow shape. People end up having slightly different ideas of the meanings of words, and so usage can vacillate; things end up being set in jello rather than in stone.
