The Guest List
Thursday September 11th, 2025 with Joe Reilly
We talk to Mark and Aaron of Rum Ragged who play CityFolk tonight and then we play some of my picks of the artists appearing at CityFolk.

Today we connect with Mark Manning and Aaron Collis of the Newfoundland roots band Rum Ragged. We talk about how they are working to keep the traditional stories and songs of Newfoundland alive with their recordings and their live performances - like the one coming up at CityFolk on Thursday night (as part of an amazing lineup that includes The Indigo Girls, Melissa Etheridge, Junkhouse and a fantastic new(ish) Irish group Amble. We also talk about their work with contemporary songwriters like Amelia Curran and what to expect in concert on Thursday. For information about Rum Ragged at CityFolk and getting tickets: https://cityfolkfestival.com/acts/rum-ragged/ And be sure to visit Rum Ragged's website for more info and music: https://www.rumragged.com/ For the second half of the show, we listened to some of the acts I'm most excited to see at CityFolk this year... Enjoy. Thanks for listening to the Guest List today. Support independent music in any way that you can and get out to see some live music this week... or any week! I wish there was no air for Morrissey. C'mon, no meat? Did the vendors go along, or will he cancel. Commenting for a friend.
