Today we talk to Nick Schofield about his new album Glass Gallery and how the National Gallery of Canada inspired this collection of beautiful instrumental music.

Today we talk to Ottawa's Nick Schofield. These days he splits his time between Montreal and Gatineau, but Nick grew up in Ottawa and as kid he spent lots of time at the National Gallery of Canada. Recently he spent time at the Gallery again, and was inspired by the beauty of the building and the art housed there to create a collection of music that he has entitled Glass Gallery and it was released by Backward Music last week. Nick shares with us why the National Gallery of Canada remains an inspiration to him and how he came to write this music in which he tries to capture different elements of the Gallery. He talks to us about the decision to record all of the music using the Prophet 600 synthesizer and how he asked visual artists to create beautiful videos for two pieces of music.
