Interviews with Trevor Alguire, Peter Elkas and Vince Halfhide

We open the show today with Trevor Alguire joining me in the studio. Trevor doesn't have any upcoming gigs, but he dropped in to talk about making music over the years and some of the challenges he faces doing that and to share his new single "Reckless Daydreams." It's another stellar song with great vocals and a strong arrangement. Trevor hopes to have a new album out in May and will drop back with new music when he has a release party in the works. Next up we check in with Peter Elkas who is performing at Live on Elgin on Saturday night (January 11.) Peter has been spending a lot of time in the studio as a producer of late and this slowed his own song output a little bit. He tells us how producing and running a studio has enabled him to keep working in the creative arts full time and how his studio work impacts his own writing and recording. He will be in town with his trio this weekend. Finally we check in with local singer-songwriter and guitarist Vince Halfhide. Vince talk to us about his songwriting and how his 2018 album reflects his love of narrative folk songs and the blues ... and all the other broad ranging influences that work their way into his music. He has an upcoming concert featuring his songs on Saturday, January 18 at Vibration Studios in Osgoode. He will also be playing as part of Sneezy Waters's Marvelous Band on February 8 as part of a matinee at the Bronson Centre. Then on February 22 he will be part of Saloon Dion at Moose McGuire's 3220 McCarthy Road. Get out and see some live music this week.
